Dishes with a galaxy in the glaze

Famiware makes stoneware and porcelain for people who think a table should look set even before the food arrives. Reactive glazes swirl differently on every plate, so no two pieces in your cupboard are ever quite the same — and all of them shrug off the microwave, the dishwasher and the everyday knocks of a busy kitchen.

Seven collections, one table language

Each Famiware collection is named after something you would find looking up at night — or out at sea. Pick one and build a full set, or mix collections and let the speckles do the talking.

Milkyway

Cream speckle over warm stone — the bestseller that started it all.

Nebula

Soft matte white with a shadowed rim, quiet and modern.

Mercury

Deep ocean blues that pool darker at the edges.

Star

Hand-dotted constellations on a twilight base.

Venus

Blush neutrals with a raw, unglazed trim line.

Jupiter

Banded earth tones, wide and generous like the planet.

Ocean

Wave-textured teals for sauce dishes and counter pieces.

Four shelves, everything a table needs

From kiln to table

Why reactive glaze is worth the wait

Clay first

Every piece starts as high-fired stoneware or porcelain — dense, chip-resistant and heavy enough to feel serious in the hand.

Glaze poured, not printed

Reactive glazes are applied wet and left to move. Where they pool, the color deepens; where they thin, the clay shows through.

Fired blind

Inside the kiln the chemistry takes over. The speckle pattern that comes out is decided by heat, not by a designer — which is exactly the point.

Checked, packed, shipped

Each set is inspected, wrapped piece-by-piece and boxed to survive the trip to your door.

Bestsellers across every shelf — rated by thousands of real kitchens, not our marketing department.

What we stand on

Handmade look. Weeknight rules.

Plenty of ceramics look beautiful and then ask you to hand-wash them like heirlooms. Famiware refuses the trade-off: every collection is microwave safe, dishwasher safe and made to be stacked, scraped and used seven days a week. The artistry is in the glaze — the engineering is in everything underneath it.

Microwave & dishwasher safe

No babying required — reheat leftovers and load the machine without a second thought.

Scratch-resistant surfaces

Glazes are fired hard enough to take real cutlery, not just wooden forks.

Stackable by design

Rims and feet are shaped so full sets store in a single cupboard column.

Lead-free & food-safe

Materials tested for daily contact with everything you actually eat.

Living with ceramics

Three habits that keep glaze gorgeous

Warm water for stubborn stains

Coffee and turmeric marks lift with warm water and baking soda — skip the steel wool, keep the sheen.

Let thermal shock pass

Straight from freezer to hot oven is hard on any ceramic. Give pieces a few minutes to meet room temperature first.

Stack with the speckle up

Glazed face to glazed face keeps unfinished feet from rubbing patterns on the plate below.

What shoppers say

“The speckle pattern is somehow different on every plate and they still look like a set. Guests ask about them constantly.”
Melissa R. — Star dinnerware, set for 4
“Survived two years of a dishwasher run daily and a toddler who treats bowls like drums. Not one chip.”
Dan K. — Milkyway pasta bowls
“Bought the mugs to match the plates and now the whole shelf looks intentional. Best table upgrade under $100.”
Priya S. — Mercury collection

Quick answers

Are the sets truly dishwasher safe?

Yes — every Famiware collection is rated for household dishwashers. Reactive glazes are fired at high temperature and sealed, so daily cycles won’t dull them.

Why does my plate look different from the photo?

That’s the reactive glaze doing its job. Pigments move in the kiln, so speckle density and pooling vary slightly from piece to piece — it’s a feature, not a defect.

Where do orders ship from?

All items are fulfilled through our retail partner’s US logistics network, with fast delivery and a standard return window on every order.
